For which the  goals  to follow are:

a) Reduce the intake in volume of carbohydrates, fats, and decrease their absorption

b) Improve insulin resistance by 80%

c) Prevent apoptosis (death) of beta cells of the Pancreas

d) Stimulate GLP-1 earlier

e) Avoid hyperglucagonemia

This is how the  Metabolic Surgery, which  understands different surgical techniques  aimed at improving or remitting metabolic disorders such as diabetes, hyperlipidemia (cholesterol, high triglycerides) and hypertension  in order to decrease or stop taking medications.

The best technique must be chosen between the surgeon and the patient, to be a candidate,  it is important that you have adequate  Pancreatic Reserve (determined by laboratory tests), know your level of insulin resistance and the years of suffering from the disease, since we know there is a relationship in terms of the percentage of remission success that is associated  to the evolution of the disease.

Patients who have been diabetic for less than 5 years have a better success rate than those who are 5 to 10 years old, and the latter have a better success rate than those who have more than 10 years of suffering from the disease.

Similarly, those who have not used insulin, or who have been using it for a short time, have better results than those who have used insulin for years, so we conclude that  the best candidate is the one who decides to have surgery the earliest.
